But amidst the vibrancy and commerce, there is a darker side to Deepforge. Beneath the surface of prosperity lies an underclass of the downtrodden and desperate. Unemployed and disenfranchised, they eke out a meager existence on the fringes of society, turning to vice and crime to survive. The city’s rulers, the Thanes, are aware of the situation but are unable or unwilling to address it, leading to growing unrest and discontent among some of the city’s inhabitants.
