Free TTRPG Battlemap – Crypt of the Bone Tyrant

LUKE: As a child, Luke didn’t know TTRPGs existed. So he spent over a decade designing his own systems from scratch, and GMing complex homebrew campaigns for his brothers. Now, he is the talented artist, author, and director behind Seafoot Games. He painted all of our DnD battlemaps with careful consideration of level design and tactics, plus co-authored all our campaign sourcebooks. He also designed countless monsters and items, carefully balancing their mechanics system-agnostically, as well as for 5e. 

Luke always loved games growing up. He set a world-record in WoW, and was the Best Hunter on the Server during Warlords of Draenor. He also received a slap on the wrist for kiting a dragon boss to Stormwind. On top of that, he thoroughly enjoyed several years of beta-testing Sabre RPG for his friend, and figuring out creative, legal ways to break it!

He is always learning new things, and researching new game design and storytelling techniques to continually improve. Now, he spends his free time with his beautiful wife and kids, working on his indie videogame in Unreal (while listening to podcasts about philosophy or politics), or dry-stone-walling in the garden. He can also be found balancing the mechanics of a unique science-fantasy TTRPG system he’s building from scratch.

RIANNA: There is an old saying, “Never mix business with family or friends”. In this case, co-founding a business together led to a successful marriage! Rianna and Luke were only dating when he decided to start Seafoot Games. Naturally, she created social media profiles (including Patreon) for Luke and set up templates he could use for his marketing, as well as to make printable map .PDFs. She also came up with the idea of writing adventures to stir up interest for the battlemaps. 

Subsequently, she wrote 100s of adventures, built this website, and had a blast co-authoring full-blown campaign sourcebooks. Eventually, she also found herself responsible for hiring artists and writers, managing payroll, and doing accounting for what had inadvertently become her business, too.

An award-winning artist, Rianna previously wrote and published her own book and short stories, as well as worked as a book cover illustrator and designer. She was also a concept artist for various indie film and video game projects, as well as a game designer. Later, she came to specialise in website design, print and graphic arts, as well as digital marketing.
