Nestled along the rugged coastline is the town of Deepwich, a dreary town full of hardy folk who’ve been through the worst of it.

The town’s roots can be traced back to the various small villages that once dotted the region, a few of them nestled within the nearby Wickward Forest which is known for its ancient occult artifacts.

As the centuries passed, these small hamlets were gradually abandoned in favor of a more unified township on the coast that would eventually become Deepwich. The settlement boasted bountiful fishing grounds and serviceable farmland along the rocky shoreline, offering sanctuary from the sinister allure that whispered to the feeble-hearted deep within the Wickward Forest.

For a time, Deepwich flourished, shielded from the forest’s unsettling voices. However, more recently, a violent storm unearthed further occult artifacts that had long lain dormant within the forest’s shadowed expanse. The same eerie whispers that once confined themselves to the woods now beckoned the villagers once more.

Since then, many have vanished, surrendering their lives to worship the siren call of the voices that whisper from the heart of Wickward Forest. As time passed, these lost souls have devolved into cannibalistic cultists and worse who now plague the forest and the seaside lands.
